The Philippines is the first country in the world to allow generic versions of the popular acid blocker, Nexium, to be sold by prescription only.
Last year, a Philippine court upheld the government’s decision to sell its generic version of Nexium 40 mg.
The government’s ruling was part of a larger effort by the US Food and Drug Administration to allow generic versions of the drug in its formulary.
Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), a medicine used to treat stomach ulcers, heartburn and other gastrointestinal conditions.
It has been sold in the Philippines since September 2014 and is available in the market at pharmacies in all over the country.
The Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health have approved generic versions of the drug for the Philippines.
A spokesman for the Philippine General Pharmaceutical Association (PGPA), Mr. Sani Phuc, said the decision to sell the drug by prescription only has not been made in a “minor” manner.
“We are disappointed that the FDA has decided to allow generic versions of the drug to be sold in this manner,” Mr. Phuc said.
“We are concerned about the availability of a generic version of Nexium and want to ensure that this is only the final step in bringing about a change in the way the medicine is marketed in the country.”
In May 2015, the Filipino General Pharmaceutical Association (PGPA) in a hearing held by Philippine Congress to address the issue of a generic version of the drug was revoked.
The hearing was held in the Philippines last month, where the FDA asked for an explanation from the drug company, the Philippine General Pharmaceutical Association (PGPA), as to why the company was not permitted to sell generic versions of the drug.
The FDA said that the agency had been conducting a study to determine whether or not a generic version of Nexium would be available in the Philippines.
Nexium was made by the drugmaker AstraZeneca.
Under the drug’s name, the drug’s active pharmaceutical ingredient is esomeprazole, a prescription medicine that treats stomach ulcers.
It is used to treat ulcers caused by a virus that causes stomach ulcers and is also used to treat acid reflux disease.
In 2012, Nexium was approved for treatment of reflux disease, a condition that causes stomach acid to build up in the esophagus.
The drug is sold as a generic version of the brand-name drug Prilosec, which is an over-the-counter medicine used for treating heartburn and other stomach problems. The company also made a similar generic version of Nexium.
While Nexium is a generic version of Prilosec, it is also sold under a different name, Prilosec XR, manufactured by Eli Lilly. Prilosec was approved to treat heartburn in 1998 and was approved to treat acid reflux disease in 2002.
According to the Philippine General Pharmaceutical Association, Nexium is available in pharmacies in all over the Philippines and is not only effective against heartburn but is also used to treat acid reflux disease.
PPIs are used to treat conditions such as ulcers, acid reflux and acid reflux esophagitis. According to the Philippine General Pharmaceutical Association, Nexium is also used to treat heartburn.
PPIs are available as a generic version of Prilosec and other brand-name drugs, including Zantac. The drug is also sold under a different name, Zantac XR, manufactured by AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca is one of the largest drugmakers in the world and a leading player in the US market. The company is the world’s largest maker of generics and has a strong portfolio of manufacturing and distribution businesses.
It has about 2 million jobs.
According to the Philippine General Pharmaceutical Association, Nexium is only available under prescription.
PPIs are available in pharmacies in all over the Philippines, but are not available in pharmacies in other countries.
The Philippines government has been concerned about the availability of generic versions of Nexium in the formulary since the Philippines’ Food and Drug Administration allowed its generic version to be sold in this manner in 2014.
